BlockScout doesn't show address info

Hi everyone,

I’ve created a link to ETC address on BlockScout, but behavior isn’t clear.

Link looks like :

https://blockscout.com/etc/mainnet/address/my_etc_address/transactions

Issue is that when I click on the link on my website and get forwarded to the BlockScout.com for the first time, it shows that nothing found. Then I search and find this address on BlockScout.com. After I successfully find address info, link starts working.

What is correct way of creating a link to get address metadata on BlockScout?

Thank you in advance

Hi,

The described case is possible if an address has no confirmed transactions at the time of first open the address page in Blockscout, because we currently show the address view only for addresses that took part in transactions in the blockchain. But by the time of the second time open that link, I suppose, the address got the first confirmed transaction and Blockscout processed it. That is why, I believe, your second try was successful.

Thus, to answer your question.

The way you did it is correct. This mask will be correct every time

https://blockscout.com/etc/mainnet/address/my_etc_address/transactions

And I prepared a fix to force show an address view for addresses, that have no transactions yet to mitigate/eliminate confusing.
