ERC20 Token Faucet Tutorial

The ERC20 Token Faucet by peppersec provides a sleek and easy interface for ERC20 test token creation. It is available for the Eth mainnet and testnets, as well as the POA network and the xDai chain.

The faucet can quickly generate any number of FAU tokens directly from a web interface. These tokens can be used by developers to test smart contract applications and any other token transfer functionality.

  • Network wallet address loaded with enough native currency to cover the transaction. In this tutorial we use the POA network, which requires a small amount of POA. For test networks, you can acquire native currency using a testnet ether faucet

  • Web3 wallet interface such as MetaMask or NiftyWallet. In this tutorial we use NiftyWallet.

Quick Video

  1. Go to https://erc20faucet.com/

  2. Check that your web3 wallet (such as NiftyWallet) is connected to the correct network. If not, select the network you’d like to transfer FAU tokens to.

  3. Once selected, the web interface will populate with your Address, Network and Balance information.

  4. Select the Amount of tokens you would like to create.

  5. Click the Mint Free Tokens button.

  6. Your web3 wallet interface should open. Check the transaction and click Submit to confirm. You will see a Success message if the transaction is successful.

  7. The tokens have been minted on your address! To view them, you will need to add the Token Address to your wallet.

  8. Copy the Token Address, open your NiftyWallet, and click Add Token in the Tokens tab.

  9. Select the Custom tab, and paste in the Token Address from the website. The Token Symbol and Decimals should populate automatically. Click Add.

  10. You should see your new FAU balance in the wallet.

  11. To mint FAU tokens on another network, such as xDAI, simply switch the network you are connected to in your webwallet, and follow the process above.

@AndrewG Great tutorial. Should we create a new category for Developers with handy tutorials?

The ERC20 Token Faucet is a great little tool. I was able to get it to work on the xDai chain but not the others (POA, Ether MainNet, etc) For some reason the “Mint Free Tokens” button does not pop up the MetaMask confirmation window etc…I was however able to set up a quick “FaucetToken FAU Balance On xDai Chain” tool at http://geoncoin.com/fau.php

Interesting. If you click on the metamask icon is the transaction waiting there? It may have to do with the popup functionality. I believe it works in nifty wallet also when switching networks. Thanks for sharing the balance tool!

I was able to mint a few Faucet Tokens on the POA Network via the Nifty Wallet … https://blockscout.com/poa/core/address/0xf9938fb946dded0fac3942290a67a6b2956e79de/transactions … And wow … The Nifty wallet is slick
